Of course not!

How can it be a gift if you have to pay or work for it? That is double-talk! But that is what some people are preaching today. They say that God gives you the gift of righteousness, on the condition that you keep the Ten Commandments for the rest of your life to remain righteous.

Now, is this a real gift? Come on, when God gave you the gift of righteousness, it was a real gift. Stop trying to earn it with your own works. Start believing that righteousness is a gift in the new covenant! Many believers are defeated today because they are trying to earn their own righteousness by their law-keeping and good works. My friend, righteousness is a gift because of what Jesus has accomplished on the cross for you. All your sins — past, present and future — have been washed clean by His precious blood.

You are completely forgiven and from the moment you received Jesus into your life, you will never be held liable for your sins ever again. You have been made as righteous as Jesus not through your behavior, but by faith in Him and His finished work on the cross8.

There is nothing that you can do that will make God love you more and there is nothing that you can do that will make Him love you less. You did nothing to become righteous. And Jesus did nothing to become sin. It is a gift that He purchased for you with His own blood! Therefore, righteousness before the Lord cannot be earned. Your righteous standing or right standing before Him can only be received as a gift. Today, your right to be righteous is a blood- bought right! License To Sin? Let me begin by asking you this: We all have the same goal of wanting people to live a life of victory over sin.

Allow me to make this explicitly clear in black and white, so that there is no doubt: Sin is evil. I do not condone sin. A lifestyle of sin leads only to defeat and destruction.

Some think that it is by preaching more law. I am convicted that it is by preaching the grace of God. In fact, some of the top business people, management executives, entrepreneurs, lawyers, accountants and consultants in my country attend our church, and you will find a congregation that is deeply in love with the person of Jesus. You will hear wonderful and amazing testimonies of how marriages have been restored, how huge debts that had run into the millions have been supernaturally cancelled, how terminal diseases have been miraculously healed and other awesome testimonies that the good news of Jesus brings!

Sin loses its appeal when you encounter the Person of grace, Jesus Christ, and realize all that He has blessed you with and done for you on the cross. You begin to realize that you have been given this great gift of righteousness and that you did nothing to deserve it.

You did nothing to earn it and you did nothing to merit it. Now, what happens? Does this encounter with Jesus cause you to want to go out and sin? On the contrary, it will cause you to fall in love with Jesus all over again. It will make you a better husband, a better father, a better housewife, a better student. It will make you someone who desires with all your heart to guard the glory of our Lord Jesus by living a life that is victorious over sin, by His grace and strength!

The preoccupation with Christ instead of with self, will cause you to start reigning in life through the one, Jesus Christ — that is the Gospel Revolution! Wake up every morning and give thanks that you are the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. The Final Restoration Down through the centuries, God has been restoring His truths to the church, and I believe that the last and final truth is the person of Jesus Christ and all that He has accomplished on the cross.

The revelation of the finished work of Jesus will get stronger and stronger in the end times, and man will begin to enjoy the full benefits of the new covenant of grace. Jesus did not die on the cross for us because any one of us deserved it. The price here is Jesus Himself. He gave Himself up as a ransom for you and me. He gave Himself up, so that you and I can receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign in life.

It is time for the church to stop backing away from grace and to stop worrying that it might be too controversial. Study the Scriptures and begin to see for yourself that this is the power of God to salvation. Stop backing away from grace! Discerning The Gospel Of Grace Let me teach you how to discern if the grace teaching that you are hearing is doctrinally sound.

When you hear the new covenant of grace preached, it is always Christ-exalting.

Sermons And Animations

It always reveals more and more of Jesus. It always unveils the beauty of Jesus and the perfection of His finished work on the cross. Jesus is always glorified when grace is taught. There is no grace without Jesus!

The Word of God tells us to test everything. God wants us to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves I want you to crack open your Bible and study the Word of God for yourself, and see the grace of our Lord Jesus in the new covenant coming alive.

Grace is not a doctrine. Grace is a person and His name is Jesus. Therefore, there is no grace teaching without Jesus Christ. You cannot separate Jesus and grace! Similarly, to further discern if what you are hearing is the gospel of grace, note that grace does not point to your efforts, your performance or your doing.

The law makes one self-conscious. Under law, the burden is on you to perform. Under grace, the burden is on what Christ has performed on the cross. He was talking to people who were weary and heavy laden by the requirements of the law of Moses. The yoke of the law is hard and heavy. Jesus came to reveal grace, and the yoke of grace is easy and light because it involves none of you and all of Christ. He has borne the burden of sin on your behalf. Under grace, your part is to only believe on Jesus Christ, and when you believe, you are blessed and made righteous!

This is a lie from the pit of hell!

Reward Yourself

No man can be saved except through our Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life No man comes to the Father and receives eternal life except through Jesus! There is no grace without the person of Jesus. True grace always makes Jesus the center of everything. It is time for the church to tear down these fences of controversy around grace and start unveiling more and more of Jesus. This is the heartbeat of my ministry — the unveiling of Jesus and seeing more of Jesus, His loveliness, His perfection and His grace.

Begin to see that the devil has entrenched fences and built strongholds that are so fortified that today, they are like thick walls.

These thick walls surround the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. By the grace of God, we are going to pull down these thick walls, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. Start receiving the treasures that were purchased for you by the blood of Jesus, and begin reigning in every area of your life! Chapter 4: Tomorrow, I am responsible for my sins. This is what many believers are hearing and believing today: Sometimes God is good, sometimes He is not!

Sometimes He is happy, sometimes He is not! They are tossed to and fro, never anchored on the rock of Jesus Christ. Such believers are living between two covenants — the old covenant of law and the new covenant of grace. They believe in a mixed message that tells them that there are times when God is angry with them and times when He is happy with them.

God is angry with me when I do wrong. Under law, God demanded righteousness from man. Under grace, God provided righteousness for man. Under law, everything depended on man and his obedience. But under grace, everything depends on Jesus and what He did on the cross. The law demands, but will not lift a finger to help, while grace imparts and has accomplished everything on your behalf.

Have you noticed that in the old covenant based on the law of Moses, it was all based on what YOU had to do and not do?

Compare this with the new covenant of grace where the Lord says: Hebrews 8: He will do everything on our behalf. In fact, because Jesus has already died on the cross for us, He has already done everything on our behalf. Jesus came to establish the new covenant of grace and under this new covenant, God is no longer angry with you because His anger and wrath have already been exhausted on the body of Jesus on the cross.

Grace imparts righteousness and has accomplished everything on your behalf. Pay close attention to this, for it will radically transform your life: Jesus cannot lie! And if the anger of God has already been completely exhausted, how can God be angry with you today? The reason many believers are living a life of defeat is that they believe the LIE that God is angry with them.

The reason many are not able to reign in life and experience a life of victory is that they carry around with them this guilt and condemnation that God is angry with them because of something that they have done in the past.

My friend, be careful when you hear sermons that make God look like an old man with a big stick, waiting to unleash His wrath on you when you fail to live up to His standards!

When I was growing up in the Lord, that was exactly how I pictured God. In my mind, He was an elderly, unsmiling man with white hair, white eyebrows and a white beard.

I used to see Him holding a big club, waiting to bash me on the head as soon as I sinned. Of course, when I grew in the understanding of God, I started to see Him without that big menacing club, but He was still not smiling and He was still very old. In heaven, there is no curse. We are forever young. He is forever young, strong and loving!

He is not wielding a club and ready to punish me. His arms are spread wide, ready to embrace me. My friend, do you see an angry God today, or a God who is smiling and ready to embrace you? Today, He is always well-pleased with you because of Jesus Christ. Let that truth sink in and fall in love with Him all over again. Several years ago, I was walking to my car after a preaching engagement when a guy came running after me from the auditorium. I explained that while God has wrath, the Bible never defines God as wrath.

But for you and me, believers in the new covenant, we are not part of the Old Testament and we will never be punished because we have already received Jesus. As believers, God is no longer angry with us because all His anger for our sins fell upon Jesus at the cross.

Jesus became the Lamb of God who takes away all our sins. After I had explained this, he thanked me.

The disturbed look that had creased his face had given way to a smile. I believe that as he walked away, there was a peace and assurance in his heart that God was no longer angry with him because his sins had already been judged completely on the cross at Calvary. There are many sincere believers today who are like this man. They believe that God is a God of love, but at the same time, they also believe that He can be a God of great wrath. When they read the Bible, they get confused because they see an often-angry God in the Old Testament, but a loving God in the New Testament.

Is God schizophrenic? Is He really angry sometimes and loving at other times? Rightly Dividing The Covenants It is important that we understand that God works through covenants because that explains how God blesses people. Think about this for a moment: Were they cursed because God is a God of wrath? No, they were cursed because they had failed to keep the terms of their covenant. It was a covenant that depended on their ability to keep the law and they could not.

The good news is that you and I are no longer under the requirements of the old covenant. To put it simply, we are blessed because Jesus is good, and He made us good and accepted by washing away all our sins with His own blood! We have to rightly divide the covenants. Listen carefully to what I am saying: God is holy and righteous, and He hates sin. There is no question about that. But the full anger and judgment of God against sin fell upon Jesus on the cross.

Have you ever wondered how it was possible for Jesus to be punished for sin since He committed no sin? The Bible says that He who knew no sin became sin1. Jesus committed no sin, but the past, present and future sins of humanity were all collectively punished on His body!

He knew no sin, but was punished for our sins. So God has not gone soft on sin. Sin has been judged at the cross of Jesus! So all your sins have been forgiven, and it was accomplished through one sacrifice, by one Man. His name is Jesus. His blood that was shed forgives all your sins — past, present and even future sins. Many Christians have the erroneous belief that only their past sins have been forgiven. They believe that when they received Christ, only their past sins were forgiven.

So they believe that they have to be very careful from that point onwards. That was the impression that I was given by preachers and teachers when I was growing up.

It refers to all the sins of our lifetime! He forgave all — past, present and future — of our trespasses! Understand that Jesus does not have to be crucified again for your future sins. They were all forgiven at the cross as well! Let me illustrate it this way. Imagine that you and your family have managed to wriggle your way to the front of a jostling crowd in Disneyland, where the street parade is about to start.

Donald Duck sails past and your children wave in excitement. Next comes Goofy, and then Pluto, and wow… is that Mickey coming up next? We have a linear perspective and we see events unfold day by day. He is up there, high above the parade, and He sees all the floats from the beginning to the end. In the same way, when God forgave your sins at the cross, He saw the sins of your entire life from beginning to the end. God has taken all your sins, even the sins that you have not yet committed, and put them all on Jesus.

Or does it make you want to live a life of honor that glorifies your God, who loves you so perfectly and completely? It is His grace and forgiveness that gives you the power to overcome sin. Testimony Of His Grace I received this written testimony from a precious brother in my church: Pastor Prince, I just want to share with you what the grace of God has done for me in my life.

I was born into a Christian family. When I was growing up, I was forced to attend church. All I learnt was that Jesus hung on the cross, but why He was there, I did not know. I hated going to church. In high school, I got involved with gangs, and started to smoke and drink heavily. I started to live a life of crime, stealing, vandalizing and getting into fights.

I became rude, hot-tempered and extremely vulgar. My parents, teachers and school counselors tried to help me, but nothing worked. I frequented the pubs every day, and became a heavy drinker and smoker. Most of my friends were drug addicts. I got involved in armed robberies and I saw my life going into a downward spiral.

It went from bad to worse and there was a cry within me for things to change. This whole bondage by the devil came to an end just a few years ago when I got to know this girl called Faith. Even though Faith was a new believer, she would tell me about the grace, mercy and love of God, and why Jesus died for me. I was amazed at her knowledge of Jesus. I was born into a Christian family, but this new convert knew more about Jesus than I did. She then brought me to her church, called New Creation Church, and as you began to minister, I felt a warmth all over me and I started to cry.

I felt like I was falling in love, but I did not know with whom. From that point on, my life was no longer the same. Jesus began to deliver me from so many bondages. I heard you share a testimony about how another church member was delivered from a smoking addiction by confessing the righteousness of God and I started to do the same.

I would smoke and confess that Jesus had taken my smoking addiction on the cross and that He still loves me even though I was still smoking. Amazingly, two weeks later, nine years of heavy smoking and six years of alcoholism were gone! And as time went by, Jesus delivered me from the gang that I was in. I was even delivered from many other bad habits, like my addiction to pornography. I truly became a new creation in Christ Jesus! Everyone who knew me was shocked at my transformation.

I was even healed of a year urinary problem. I used to have to go to the toilet many times in the night, but now I am able to sleep through the night in peace. Pastor Prince, what man could not do, Jesus did. It was the grace of God that changed me. I did not deserve it, but I thank God for the blood of Jesus. He took me just as I was and now I am a child of God. When I heard you preach the grace of God, I did not go out to start a new gang, smoke, drink or sleep around.

In fact, it was His grace that changed a wretch like me. I believe that God has blessed me to be a blessing. I want to spread this good news that only Jesus can make a difference in our lives. Pastor Prince, your ministry has blessed me.

I have been attending New Creation Church for five years now and I am proud to say that this is my church. Victor King Singapore Hallelujah! You see, the more revelation you have of the grace of God and His forgiveness, the more you will have the power to reign over all your challenges and addictions.

We Have Been Robbed Many Christians have been robbed of fellowship and intimacy with God because they believe the lie that God is still angry with them because of their sins. They avoid having contact with God, thinking that He gets angry with them whenever they fail. So instead of going to God when they fail, they run in the opposite direction.

Instead of running to the solution, they run away from it. The truth is this: God is no longer angry with you. His wrath toward all your sins has already been exhausted completely on the body of your Savior Jesus Christ. All your sins have been judged and punished in the body of another. Schizophrenic teaching that tells you that God is sometimes angry and sometimes happy with you based on your performance is unscriptural and will make you a schizophrenic believer.

God is present tense love. Stop being robbed of true intimacy and a relationship with your gracious and forgiving Savior Jesus Christ. Instead of avoiding Him when you fail, know that He is the answer to all your problems. You can go to Him and receive grace for your failures.

His grace is greater than all your failures. He loves you perfectly, so go to Him with all your imperfections. In the same way that He restored that precious brother from our church, He will love you into wholeness!

The more revelation you have of the grace of God and His forgiveness, the more you will have the power to reign over all your challenges and addictions. Soon after the tragedy of September 11 had taken place, some believers publicly declared that God was judging America because of its sins. Preach it! Thousands of people died, and many families, friends and loved ones were thrown into grief.

How can that be the work of our loving Father? Read the Bible for yourself. Terrorism is the work of the devil. It is not the work of our loving Father. My friend, God is not judging America or any country in the world today. America and its sins have already been judged! At the cross of Jesus! Sin has been judged at the cross! Ahaziah deployed a captain with 50 soldiers to confront Elijah, who was sitting on top of a hill.

So Ahaziah sent another captain with 50 men, and again, fire came down from heaven and consumed them. Ahaziah then sent a third captain with 50 of his soldiers, but this time, the captain pleaded with Elijah, and his life and the lives of his men were spared3. As for Sodom and Gomorrah, the Bible records that the Lord rained brimstone and fire on the two cities.

When we read the Bible, we need to follow the advice that Apostle Paul gave to his young apprentice, Timothy. Many believers today are living as if the cross did not make any difference! God wants us to be able to rightly divide the Word. He wants us to be astute in rightly dividing and clearly separating what belongs to the old covenant of law and what belongs to the new covenant of grace. He wants us to be able to distinguish what occurred before the cross from what occurred after the cross, and to understand the difference the cross made.

See for yourself what Jesus Himself said about what Elijah did. Do you remember the time when Jesus wanted to enter a certain village in Samaria, but the people there refused to receive Him? No, of course not! Read your Bible. Jesus wants you to have full assurance in your heart today that He did not come to condemn or destroy you.

He came to save you7! The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it more abundantly8. He promised Abraham that if there were only 10 righteous men in Sodom, he would not destroy the city for their sake9.

For I cannot do anything until you arrive there. Folks, what happened on September 11 was not an act of judgment from God. Reject such bad news in the name of Jesus. Instead, start receiving the good news of Jesus. When you are faced with difficult circumstances, keep on believing in His love for you that was demonstrated on the cross and He will cause whatever the devil meant for evil to be turned around for good, and to His glory! When the devil throws lemons at you, God will turn them into lemonade for your enjoyment!

There was a young couple in my church who had lost their baby due to some complications. That was really cruel! We may not have all the answers, but we can have full assurance that the negative circumstances that we may sometimes experience are not the works of God, neither are they punishments for our sins.

When we have this confidence that God is for us and not against us, we can believe for restoration, breakthroughs and good things to happen to us. Our church leaders told the young couple that it was not the Lord punishing them for their sins.

They reminded them that all their sins have been punished at the cross of Jesus. This helped them to remove all the guilt and condemnation that they were carrying in their hearts. Since then, the Lord has blessed them with a beautiful baby.

I noticed that these couples had one thing in common: After they heard the good news of the gospel of grace, it liberated them from all guilt and condemnation. Instead of believing that God was against them or punishing them, they started believing that He was for them. They started trusting aggressively in His grace and goodness. And without fail, restoration always came. When He restores, His restoration is always greater in quantity or quality. But think about it: If those couples continued to believe erroneously that God was punishing them because of their sins, they would never be able to muster the courage and hope to trust God for restoration, for a new child.

My friend, your sins have been punished on the cross. God is on your side. And if God is for you, who can be against you? Pastor Prince, early last year, I was diagnosed with a tumor on the pituitary gland in my brain. The MRI scan showed that the tumor was a macro-growth of about 1.

The neurosurgeon at the Singapore General Hospital said that if I had seen him any later, the tumor would have affected my eyesight as it was pressing on my optic nerves. I was presented with two options: Immediate surgery to remove the tumor the risk of surgery was that besides a 20 per cent failure rate, I could become blind in one eye or medication I was told that medication would take a long time to work and most patients only experience a shrinkage in the tumor after a year or so.

What the doctors had found out and said about the tumor was devastating news to me and my family. I remember telling myself that if I were to lose my eyesight, I would not want to live anymore.

It was during this time that my family resolved to commit the whole thing to God, to trust and rely on Him entirely and pray for healing.

We opted to go with taking medication. Within a month of the medication, the level of prolactin in my blood decreased and the balance of chemicals in my body became stable. I was very encouraged, and most importantly, I felt confident and secure that my God was doing His work of healing in my body, that He loves and cares for me enough to know that I was hurting and to do something about it.

The doctor was amazed and kept saying that in most cases, even when a tumor had shrunk by so much, there would still be remnants of tumor cells. But in my case, the tumor was completely GONE, with no trace of any tumor cells at all! No words can describe how grateful and thankful I am to God. I know that it is God who has healed me. This deep sense of knowing that I am deeply loved and cared for by God makes me so secure in my relationship with God.

I want to give all the glory and praise to God. I am what I am today — healed, whole and at peace — only because of the preaching of the good news of the gospel of grace!

But praise God He brought light into her situation, and showed her how much He loved her! You will never find an example of God punishing a believer for his sins in the new covenant. When David sinned against God by committing adultery with Bathsheba and plotting the death of her husband, Uriah, sin was imputed to David and he was punished. No, he was looking prophetically into the covenant of grace.

He was describing you and me — a new generation of people who are under the covenant of grace! Does it mean that you will never sin again? Did Jesus die on the cross to free us from committing sinful actions or harboring sinful thoughts?

If He did, then allow me to conclude with reverence that He failed. You and I know fully well that we can still be tempted with sinful thoughts and tempted to commit sinful actions, and there will still be times when we fail.

Can you show me a man who is free from all temptations and who never fails? My friend, when David described the blessed man as one to whom the Lord will not impute sin, he meant that even when this man sins, God will not count his sin against him, nor punish him for his iniquity.

Too good to be true? That is why David defined this man as a blessed man. And this blessed man is you and me! Today, you are blessed because the Lord no longer counts your sins against you. Because of the cross of Jesus, you will never be punished for your sins again. Your sins were imputed to Jesus, so that they would never be imputed to you. Under the new covenant of grace that was sealed with the blood of Jesus, God has already judged sin completely on the body of Jesus Christ.

Your sins have already been imputed to His account! Look at what John said: He represents you before God and as Jesus is, so are you13! Is Jesus righteous before God? Then so are you. Is He accepted before God? Is He well-pleasing before God? Now, will the revelation of what Jesus has done for you cause you to go out and sin? And living life like that is wonderful! This is what he said: You take the wrong bus.

God can even use your mistakes to prosper you. He was leading His people like a good shepherd would. And what did He do when they stood before the Red Sea?

He moved right behind them as a pillar of cloud to prevent the Egyptian army from coming near them. In Exodus At the same time. Who better to go before you than Jesus! In Israel. In the Old Testament.

God had been in front of them as a pillar of cloud when they left Egypt. Jesus goes before you and prospers your way. Jesus was there with them. We see something like this in the Old Testament. He opened up the Red Sea so that all the Israelites could cross over to the. Exodus Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place! There they were. For instance. In Hebrew. These letters. In the original Hebrew text.

In Revelation In the Greek. Let me explain what it means. Look at the clause. Jesus has the first and the Last word in all your situations! Aleph and tav are the first and last letters in the Hebrew alphabet. He is the Aleph and the Tav or Aleph-Tav. Jesus says. What all this means is this: Jesus has the first and the last word in all your situations!

He is the one who brings the right places and timings together in your life. He will speak to me.

My heart is full of Him and I am at peace. The more I understand this. You can live life watching out for yourself. I have made my choice. He puts you in the right place at the right time. The choice is yours. When you enjoy His love. If He needs to direct me to do something. There is One who knows everything and every detail. Jesus the Aleph-Tav has the first and last say! And He will make all things beautiful in His time by putting you in the right place at the right time.

Let me illustrate this with the story of two sisters. In Luke But one thing is needed. So she went to Jesus to complain. He said. I believe that she was also admiring His beauty and worshipping Him. Therefore tell her to help me. Jesus defended Mary. Mary and Martha. But what caused Mary to do the right thing at the right time? I say to you. But Jesus defended Mary again. He had already risen and was no longer in the tomb. But they arrived too late. Learn to love Him. For many people. Judas complained about this.

Learn to enjoy His love and learn to look at His beauty. It was simply because she had sat at His feet! There is a better way — just behold Jesus. Choose the good part like Mary did. Learn to appreciate Jesus. Let me tell you that hearing from God is not hard.

John No wonder the Father loves Him! It crushes my pride when I see that. You and I are not perfect. He could have followed His own will.

Man has always wanted to become like God. There is no more room for ego and self-inflation when I realise that. Man is really nothing trying to make himself something. Jesus often hides His beauty. Meekness And Majesty Recently. He could have done His own thing. I was doing what Mary did. It is the greatest liberty ever known to man to look at Jesus Christ and see His beauty.

You see it. He took upon Himself the form of a servant. Not often. He said in Luke We often want to do our own thing because we are selfish. And yet. The only reason Adam wanted to eat the forbidden fruit was to become like God. He is the only perfect one who ever walked on earth.

He made Himself of no reputation. He is the only perfect Man. There He was in. He stood up, commanded the storm to be still and nature obeyed Him.

He heals them and hides His majesty again. The devil likes to show off. Man likes to show off. That is why I am in love with Him! How can I not love His beauty? Of all men, He is the only one who can choose where He is to be born and how He is to be born.

And yet, the King of kings chose to be born in a smelly manger! The anointing of David is another beautiful story illustrating how just enjoying the presence and love of the Lord will cause everything in your life to fall into place. Each one thought that he would be anointed king, but none of them were.

It was David whom the Lord had already chosen. So when David was finally summoned into the house, Samuel anointed him as future king of Israel. Now, where was David? Probably because he was the neglected son. Just like David, you may be the neglected one in your family because you are not smart or.

Man looks at outward appearances, but God looks at the heart. Acts And because he had a heart for God, God chose him as the next king. Even after Samuel had anointed David, do you know what David did? He went back to tending the sheep! He was content to be in the fields.

He was happy to let his brothers entertain the prophet. Eventually, the call came. King Saul was oppressed by an evil spirit and only David had the anointing to play the harp so that the evil spirit would leave the king. After he had completed his assignment, David went back to the fields again! He was not a man seeking after wealth and power.

What a humble man! Again, the call came. This time, it was to go to the battlefield to deliver food to his brothers.

Buy for others

While he was there, he knocked down Goliath and became a hero. He killed and decapitated a more-than-nine-feet-tall terrorist! Why was David like that? Why was he humble?

Instead, he found satisfaction, security and joy in worshipping the Lord. His focus was on the Lord. You can learn something from David. He is the King of kings. Everyone else pales in comparison to Jesus the perfect Man! So do what David did — be absorbed in the Lord. Just focus on Him and enjoy His love, and everything else will fall into place.

He will position you to be in the right place at the right time. The Good Shepherd will find you from among the sheep and anoint you king. We would all love to be connected with money. The blessings He brings into your life are usually people. He has your best interests at heart. He wants to connect you with real and lasting success. We would all want to be the one who wins the lucky draw. And He does it simply by putting desires in your heart to go somewhere or do something.

Man idolises inanimate objects like money. I want to show you how God can connect you with the right. We would all want to be the one who wins the million dollars! But he also knew that a well was a good place to find eligible young women because all the young maidens of the town would come to the well to draw water in the evening. The word is also used in Ecclesiastes 9: Genesis But which of these girls would be the right one?

Which of these girls would be the one whom God had set apart for Isaac? So he prayed. He wanted to provide water for his camels to drink. In Genesis The servant was an unnamed servant. I can imagine all his friends urging him on and saying. They are fearful that if they just prayed. Some people think that if they prayed the way the servant prayed. God may not give them what they want. And she went down to the well.

If this really happened to a young man. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master. The servant was in the right place at the right time. God led him there and connected him with the right wife for Isaac. I was rebuked. God knew beforehand that they would be good for each other! One day. But here is a man of God. She must be tanned and she must be tall!

Later on. He gave him Rebekah. Sacrifice yourself for us all! I learned that when I was youth president in my previous church. Psalm So trust God when you are looking for your future husband or wife. Their beauty is recorded in the Bible. And every time these men of God first laid eyes on their brides. These women were beautiful to the men whom God had appointed to them.

God knows who is beautiful in your eyes. God knows you better than you know yourself. Joseph and other men of God. God loves you more than you will ever know. Do you see an angry God? Or do you see a gracious, giving Father? The Bible shows us two beautiful pictures of Christ as the Rock. In Exodus 17, God told Moses to strike a rock so that water would flow to quench the thirst of the Israelites. This symbolises the crucifixion of Christ and it also shows us Christ as the supplier of all our needs.

The water that flowed from the smitten rock typifies all that we need in life, be it health, prosperity, better relationships, a new job… Whatever we need flows from Jesus our Rock. Then, in Numbers 20, when God told Moses to speak to a high rock, Moses disobeyed and instead, struck the rock. This symbolises those who continue to crucify the exalted Christ with wrong beliefs and inaccurate confessions.

But because Christ was smitten once for all sin, God now wants us to simply speak to the exalted Rock for our needs to be met. As long as you are a child of God, there is no longer any reason to wonder if God wants to bless you. He has forever settled that issue at the cross! The Rock has been struck!

The waters are flowing! Because of these eternal truths, we can expect to be blessed, redeemed and healed in every area of our lives! When you are faced with a problem, what should your response be? Just speak to the Rock. That is true confession! Speak to your Rock, the High Priest of your confession, and the waters will flow. Your miracle is in your mouth! What He said changed my theology. Then, suddenly, I heard His voice speak to me.

Why do you see Me like that? In heaven, there is no curse. I am forever young. It changed my perspective. And it changed the way I prayed from that day onwards.

Now, whenever I pray, I see a heavenly Father who is youthful and dynamic. How do you see God? How do your Christian and non- Christian friends see God? If you go into the streets and ask people what God is like, many of them will probably tell you that God is old, that He is serious because He is holy and that He is a strict disciplinarian who is always catching them doing wrong.

Some of them will even tell you that God disciplines them with sicknesses and other hardships. God is love. He goes to the toy shop to look for a gift. He finds one and there is a smile on his face as he looks at the toy.

He is imagining his son opening up the gift for the first time and looking at the toy with joy. And he is smiling. He is the warm, friendly voice on the inside that lifts you up and strengthens you.

God is like that. He is a good Father. Matthew tells us: 11If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Right now, He is thinking of you and He has a smile on His face because He has something wonderful prepared for you! That is the kind of God you and I have. He is not out to catch you doing wrong so that He can knock you on the head!

No, He always affirms His love for you. Some people may not agree with this picture of God. They may have had absentee fathers, fathers who were never there for them. Or worse, they may have had abusive fathers who beat them harshly. So their image of a father is already tainted. They automatically assume that God is like their own father. They find it hard to see God as a gracious, giving Father. If you are like that, I want you to know that God is a Father of the fatherless.

Psalm He is a loving Father who will never leave you nor forsake you! That is not the voice of God, but the voice of the devil! He comes to remind us of our sins, making us feel lousy about ourselves!

God is not like that. He does not go about reminding us of our sins and what we have done wrong. John —11 says: 8And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

Notice that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin. The word is singular — not sins, but sin. Because the Holy Spirit only convicts us of one sin — not believing in Jesus. But once you believe in Jesus, what does the Holy Spirit convict you of? Of righteousness.

Have you ever heard that? Most people hear that the Holy Spirit is a nag, that he tells them what is wrong with them. But here, we are told that He convicts us of righteousness because Jesus has died to remove our sins and make us eternally righteous. How you see God will affect your faith and how you receive from Him. Yet, there are people who see a God of the Old Testament, a God who judges His people, and who corrects and disciplines them.

They think that God always wants to correct and discipline them. Let me tell you, the God of the Old Testament may have executed justice from time to time, but His heart is not in judgment. You see, God loves mercy. His heart is full of mercy, not judgment. The Bible says that God is love. He finally gave up his share of the business to his partner.

As a result, he was without a job for a while. During that time, I had been preaching a series of messages on how our heavenly Father takes care of everything, and how all we need to do is trust Him. The young man applied this message to his work life and prayed for a better job.

He works from home and his hours are flexible. Not bad for someone who needed a new job! When you see God as a giving and gracious Father, it becomes easy to receive what you need from Him, whether it is a new job, healing or a financial breakthrough. Now, progress to step two: Move your hands. No, God would not do that! He will save you straightaway!

He will grab you and bring you to shore. Remember when Peter decided he wanted to walk out on the water to meet Jesus? He saved Peter immediately. You will then expect a miracle from a God of mercy, not some painful, lengthy lesson from a God of judgment.

So how does God teach us? He uses His Word to discipline or train us. If there is an area of your life that needs to be corrected, God will speak to your heart about it, perhaps through a sermon or even through your spouse! You may not like what you hear, but you need to know that He is doing it for your benefit because you are His son or daughter and He loves you. Hebrews —11 I want to challenge you: What kind of God do you really see? Do you still see an angry God who likes to point out your mistakes and knock you on your head?

The first picture is in Exodus The second one is in Numbers In both passages, Jesus is typified as a rock from which water flows to provide refreshment to the children of Israel when they were in the wilderness. How do we know that the rock represents Jesus? In 1 Corinthians , Paul tells us that the rock was Christ: 4and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

Jesus is the supplier of all our needs. The waters that flowed from the rock typify all that we need in life, be it health, prosperity, a better relationship with a loved one, a new job, a new house… Whatever we need flows from Jesus our Rock. So when you see these two pictures of Christ in the two passages, and how God loves you so much that He gave His Son to be beaten so that you can be blessed, you will catch the heart of God towards you and receiving from Him then becomes easy. You will begin to expect God to meet your needs because you know the kind of God that He is.

Jesus Is The Source Of Water That Quenches Our Thirst The first picture of Christ that I want you to see is in Exodus —6: 1Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.

Why do you tempt the Lord? They are almost ready to stone me! Also take in your hand your rod with which you struck the river, and go. The story speaks of Christ the Rock being smitten on the cross so that rivers of blessings can flow to us.

In the story, the Israelites had just come out of Egypt and crossed the Red Sea.

They travelled from place to place according to the commandment of the Lord and camped at a place called Rephidim. They were so angry with Moses that they wanted to stone him! This is the best action to take when we face challenges. Earlier on, in Exodus 15, when the people arrived at Marah and found the water bitter, they grumbled against Moses. Then, when they reached the Wilderness of Sin Exodus 16 , they grumbled against Moses again, accusing him of bringing them out into the desert to starve to death.

Despite their grumbling, the Lord was gracious to them and He told Moses how to provide water for them. Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink. Even when the Israelites grumbled earlier in Exodus 16 because they were hungry, do you know what God said to Moses?

And it was no ordinary bread! He gave them more than they had asked for. He gave them bread from heaven! The bread represents Jesus, who is the true bread from heaven. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

He gave them water and bread to meet their physical needs, but He also gave them the living water and the bread of life to meet their spiritual needs as well.

You may not be happy with God. You may be resisting His call on your life. But God still loves you despite your complaints, your disobedience or your wrong behaviour.

Be sure of this: It is His goodness, not His judgment, that will lead you to repentance. Has He lowered His standards of holiness? His blessings in your life are the result of His obedience, not your obedience! It is His beating, not your beating, that results in the blessings in your life! Well, we know that a rock had to be struck. When I first read it, it touched my heart. The Lord told Moses to hit the rock. But who was standing there?

The Lord Himself! It is a picture of Christ the Rock being smitten on the cross for our sins! The nails in the cross did not keep Him on the cross. It was His love for you that kept Him there! He stepped in and absorbed the blow for us. He was beaten so that we can be blessed!

The water that flowed out of the rock represents the blessings we need, whether it is health, prosperity, protection or peace. God has done His part, so just reach out and receive. The Bible says that all the fullness of the Godhead is in Jesus. Colossians He is full of grace and truth. He was like the alabaster flask of very costly ointment that was broken so that the ointment of God could flow out for us to receive!

Beloved, Jesus went to the cross so that you can be blessed. He laid down His life willingly for you. Of course not! If He did withhold these blessings from you, then these things would appear to be of more value than Jesus!

And it is because of His obedience and His beating that rivers of blessing can now flow to us. There are no superfluous details in His Word! We see in Matthew 26 and 27 that Jesus was also judged, condemned and crucified in the presence of the elders of Israel! Caiaphas the high priest interrogated Jesus in the company of the chief priests, scribes and elders. He also tore his high-priestly garment in front of Jesus, not knowing that he was fulfilling prophecy — that the old priesthood held by man was to give way to the heavenly priesthood of Jesus!

Later, when Jesus hung on the cross at Calvary, the elders of Israel were also there and they mocked Him. Another clue is the rod which Moses used to strike the rock. It was the Nile river in Egypt. Moses smote the Nile with his rod, turning its water into blood. When Moses struck the Nile with that rod, the water was turned into blood. Blood here means death.Amazingly, two weeks later, nine years of heavy smoking and six years of alcoholism were gone! I am convicted that it is by preaching the grace of God.

Here are some of his common attacks: If there is one book that I want to write on this side of heaven, this would be it, and I am so glad that you are now holding it in your hands. What is this miracle a picture of?

This is what makes Christianity unique. He works from home and his hours are flexible. There is a better way just behold Jesus, look at Him, and be captivated by His beauty and His grace!
